HVAC Technician

As an HVAC, Water Chiller, and Air Compressor Technician, your primary responsibility will be to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems, water chiller systems, and air compressor systems in industrial and commercial settings. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that these systems operate efficiently, safely, and reliably.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation and Maintenance:

  • Install, inspect, and maintain HVAC, water chiller, and air compressor systems according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify and address potential issues proactively.
  • Replace or repair defective components or equipment as needed to ensure optimal system performance.

Troubleshooting and Repairs:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in HVAC, water chiller, and air compressor systems.
  • Identify the root causes of issues and implement effective repairs and solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.

System Testing and Calibration:

  • Test and calibrate control systems and components to ensure they operate within specified parameters.
  • Adjust settings and parameters to optimize system efficiency and performance.
  • Conduct performance tests and verify system functionality.

Emergency Response:

  • Respond to emergency service calls to address urgent system breakdowns or failures.
  • Work efficiently under pressure to restore system functionality in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the safety of yourself and others while performing emergency repairs.

Component Replacement:

  • Replace and upgrade components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, and control boards.
  • Select and procure replacement parts and materials as needed.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, especially related to refrigerants and emissions.
  • Maintain knowledge of and implement industry best practices.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history.
  • Prepare service reports and documentation for clients and supervisors.
  • Provide cost estimates for repairs and parts replacement when necessary.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and new equipment models.
  • Participate in training programs and certifications to enhance technical skills.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC, refrigeration, or related technical certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience as an HVAC technician with knowledge of water chiller and air compressor systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, chiller, and compressor systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with refrigerants and EPA certification (if applicable).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy equipment and work in varying environmental conditions.
